This bridge design was inspired by the Tokyo Gate bridge, with its sloped upper and lower trusses. In my design, the two trusses are directly on top of each other to form a rectangular form tilted such that the bridge deck follows a diagonal.
The main goal of this project was to design a bridge and accurately guess the load at which the bridge fails. There were extra credit points for making the strongest bridge and making the most innovative design. My group decided to forgo the strength bonus and pursue the innovation bonus, which we won.
