The DartWrite Portfolio Initiative grants every Dartmouth ‘26 a digital portfolio space, a personal WordPress site that you control. You can use that space to archive your academic work and reflect on your learning experiences in and beyond the classroom.
Dartmouth '26s get the keys to their site in early August of 2022.
This site is a guide
The site you're looking at now offers directions for what we think your portfolio might look like as you progress through your first year at Dartmouth. Some of your faculty may incorporate the portfolio into your courses, while others won't. Beyond any class requirements, It's up to you to decide how to use your own portfolio space in ways that support your own development and needs.
Visit the pages linked on the menu above to see advice and suggestions for building your content.
Prize-winning portfolios
We created a site for you with a Dartmouth-specific theme. But you can customize your site in hundreds of ways. Watch this space in September for examples from the 2021-22 prizewinning portfolios that show what some students have done.
Creating your site
To create your site, log in to journeys.dartmouth.edu using the same procedure you use for email (ID and password + Duo authentication).
Here are step by step instructions to creating your site (a 2-3 minute process) in a Powerpoint: https://journeys.dartmouth.edu/dartwrite2026guide/files/2022/08/26-Site-Creation-Instructions.pptx
And here are the same instructions as a .pdf: https://journeys.dartmouth.edu/dartwrite2026guide/files/2022/08/26-Site-Creation-Instructions.pdf
Once the site is created, whenever you are logged in and viewing a journeys.dartmouth.edu site, you should see a black editing ribbon at the top of your screen.
Use the ribbon to access the page editor, homepage customization tool, site editing dashboard (hover over the site name) and more.
