The practice of drawing is an investigation into mark making and translation, seeing and perception. This introductory course approaches the fundamentals of drawing using traditional and unconventional techniques. Observational drawing will build proficiency to describe the world as we see it and as we imagine it. The figure, still-life, landscape, and architecture will serve as sources and touchstones for our investigations into both the material and cognitive possibilities of drawing.
