As our final paper for Contemporary Moral Issues, we were instructed to defend a philosophical position on a contemporary moral issue of our choosing. I chose to write about the death penalty, arguing that due to the inevitable execution of innocent people the death penalty is morally unacceptable.

I chose this as my best Seminar piece because, as a philosophy paper, it shows the dramatic growth in writing this new type of paper since the beginning of the seminar. Additionally, it shows a topic which I covered in both my Writing 5 and my Seminar, which offered huge opportunity for long term learning.
