My name is Yun Chao and I currently a sophomore at Dartmouth College. I live in Naugatuck, Connecticut, where my family ran a busy Chinese and Japanese cuisine restaurant. There, I attended the local Naugatuck High School and worked primarily as a cashier and a chef at my parents’ restaurant. I love the peaceful ambience and the friendly residents of the small town, and not one day goes by without me thinking of the people back home.
Mi nombre es Yun Chao y soy un estudiante de segundo año en el Dartmouth College. Yo vivo en Naugatuck, Connecticut, donde mi familia pasó un concurrido restaurante chino y japonés. Allí, asistí al local de la Escuela Secundaria Naugatuck y trabajó principalmente como un cajero y un chef en el restaurante de mis padres. Me encanta el ambiente tranquilo y los amistosos habitantes de la pequeña ciudad, y ni un día que pase sin que me hizo pensar de la gente allí.
Since entering college in 2014, I have taken many courses and explored about just as many subjects of study. I am a prospective biology major and chemistry minor, although I have yet to officially declare either. This December, I will be participating in the 2015 Nicaragua CCESP. I am beyond excited for this opportunity to interact with and to reciprocate love and friendship for the local Nicaraguans of Siuna. In preparation for this trip, I am currently taking LACS 20, a class aimed at helping students on the trip develop a better understanding of the nature of service-learning trips. I have never been on such a trip before, and I am happy to be able to share my first experience with such wonderful people!
Desde que entré en la universidad en 2014, he tomado muchos cursos y exploró muchos temas de estudio. Soy un comandante de la biología y la química menor potencial, aunque todavía tengo que declarar oficialmente tampoco. Este diciembre, voy a participar en el 2015 Nicaragua CCESP.
