My name is Carolyn "Rae" Docherty, and this is my site you've stumbled upon. I'm from South Carolina and a '23 at Dartmouth College.
My Intended Major? My Career Goals? My mom has been asking me variations of these questions for a while now and I give a variation of “I don’t know” each time. I’ve been a foster sister to over 20 children and through this experience I have learned a lot about childhood development, specifically when children are recovering from trauma. My dream would be to learn more about the importance of early intervention in the lives of children at risk and work on implementing policies that would enact such intervention, either in the scope of the foster care system or in early education. It would be really gratifying to create a pathway in my academic career in which I can explore aspects of this interest more. I have taken courses in education and public policy and loved them. This spring I am taking a psychology course; all of these fields are ones I could see myself pursuing.
