Hello World!
My name is Estephanie Aquino and I am Dartmouth College student from the class of 2018. I am pursuing a double major in Government and Environmental Studies. I have a particular interest in International Relations and Sustainable Development in the regions of Central America and Sub Saharan Africa. This winter I will be traveling to Nicaragua for the first time from December 01, 2015 - December 16, 2015 alongside 22 other Dartmouth students as a member of the Community Development Team. The trip is formerly known as the Nicaragua Cross Cultural Service Project and includes two sub-groups known as the Community Development Team and the Community Health Team. The unique structure of the program appealed to me because we are taking a course known as LACS 20 in efforts to prepare for the trip. Although I am learning about Nicaragua's history, culture, and economy over the course of 10 weeks, I understand that this still will not be comparable to the actual experience of visiting the country. I have much to learn from experience and from interactions with the people I meet will on this trip.This website outlines some of the major take-aways I have acquired from the course.

Mi nombre es Estephanie Aquino y soy estudiante de la universidad de Dartmouth de la clase de 2018. Estoy persiguiendo una doble licenciatura en Gobierno y Estudios Ambientales. Tengo un interés particular en las Relaciones Internacionales y el Desarrollo Sostenible en las regiones de América Central y África Subsahariana. Este invierno Voy a viajar a Nicaragua por primera vez desde 01 de diciembre 2015 - 16 de diciembre 2015 junto con otros 22 estudiantes de Dartmouth como miembro del Equipo de Desarrollo de la Comunidad. El viaje se conocía anteriormente como el Proyecto de Servicio Cultural Nicaragua Cruz e incluye dos sub-grupos conocidos como el Equipo de Desarrollo de la Comunidad y el Equipo de Salud de la Comunidad. La estructura única del programa me atrajo porque estamos tomando un curso conocido como LACS 20 en los esfuerzos para prepararse para el viaje. Aunque estoy aprendiendo sobre la historia de Nicaragua, la cultura y la economía a lo largo de 10 semanas, entiendo que esto todavía no será comparable a la experiencia real de visitar el país. Tengo mucho que aprender de la experiencia y de las interacciones con la gente que conocera en el viaje.
