Music

Background

I’ve been into playing and writing music my whole life but dropped everything but Disc Jockeying when I reached high school because I wanted to pursue other classes, and didn’t think I had the time. Now that I’m in college,  I’ve realized how much I miss the freedom and expression music provides. On a whim, I ordered an electric bass online and began teaching myself during freshman fall (19F). Over winterim, I impulsively bought an electric guitar and started teaching myself that, too.

Instruments

In chronological order with most recent at the top:

  1. Electric Guitar – 8 months (and counting)
  2. Electric Bass – 1 year (and counting)
  3. Disc Jockeying – 1.5 years
  4. Euphonium Horn – 2 years
  5. Baritone Horn – 2 years
  6. Tuba / Sousaphone – 3 years
  7. Piano – 7 years

Jams

At school, I gather with some friends every week or so. We improvise original songs and play ones that we’ve learned since our last meeting. While these are informal jam sessions right now, our goal is to eventually form a band.
