Bio Boys (Anaerobic Digester and Thermoelectric Generator)

BioBoys

During senior year of high school, I dropped two classes (English and Chinese) to pursue an independent research project. Along with Benjamin Washburne (Williams ’23), I researched and engineered an anaerobic digester and a thermoelectric generator. These machines successfully transferred energy in food waste from our school’s dining call and converted it into methane gas and electricity respectively. We spent over 240 combined hours on our project, which resulted in a 47-page paper, two machines, and a poster presentation at our senior project fair.
