Identity from Location

The location of Leverone Field House in the heart of Dartmouth’s large athletic complex further enhances the sense of importance that an athlete can feel when training there. The athletic area has a specific locale on the college campus, and the walk to Leverone from the main part of campus winds through the different parts of the complex, showcasing all that the space has to offer and giving the athlete a sense of the talent and potential at the school.

These images of the athletics complex show how the practice and competition spaces for many of Dartmouth’s teams are all in one compact area. This space leads to interaction between athletes from many sports, club and varsity and contributes to the collective identity of the Dartmouth athlete that, looking through the lens of the Places journal, could have a great effect on the athlete.
