Me pictured right at my Belmont Hill School graduation June 2015

I am from Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston located just minutes from downtown. My family is made up of my dad Mark, mom Nancy, and two sisters Margaret and Anna, aged 16 and 23 respectively. Before Dartmouth I attended Belmont Hill School, a prep school located 15 minutes north of Boston. Following graduation I took a gap year living in both Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Vernon, British Columbia living with a billet family and playing hockey. I am currently on the Men’s Ice Hockey team here at Dartmouth and plan on majoring in Economics.

This Spanish 7: Mural Painting course is a part of a freshmen writing seminar that is coupled with Writing 5. Coming into Dartmouth I was fairly confident with my abilities as a writer, however I wasn’t particularly experienced in the realm of long research papers. This research paper along with the one I completed for Writing 5 has given me important experience in writing a longer paper. One thing that I learned through my writing courses here is the necessity of a clear thesis. In the past, I think that is what I struggled most with as a writer and a skill I’ve developed through my writing seminar course here at Dartmouth College.

Enjoy!
