Interview I

  • What’s your full name?
  • What country are you originally from?
  • At what age did you move to the United States?
  • Why did you leave your home country?
  • Why did you or your family choose the United States?  Why not another country?
  • What was your first impression of the United States?  Of Dartmouth?  Has this initial impression changed over time?
  • How were you treated when you arrived in the United States?  Now?
  • What are some of the differences/similarities you’ve noticed in the culture here and in your home country?
  • Did you know English when you came here?  If you ever faced discrimination because you spoke Spanish, can you tell me about that experience?

Interview II

  • You spoke about your parents briefly talking about education – could you tell me more about your family life?  Do you have any siblings?
  • What was it like living in Argentina before you came to the United States?  What was your childhood like?

  • What efforts have you made to maintain your cultural traditions in this country?
